Seems like I just can't stop flashing. All my latest stories have been flash fiction, like the micro story "Just Add Water," published in Monkeybicycle, and I taught a flash fiction workshop at the Barrington Public Library recently. My students' work is featured online at the library web site.

I find teaching writing inspiring, and I always learn from my students. A recent flash fiction story, "Undeliverable as Addressed," grew out of a language exercise I did with my students in a writing workshop. It's published in The Pedestal, Issue 50 (Spring 2009).

"How We Discovered All-Night Radio," a short music-inspired piece, was published in the January 2007 issue of Menda City Review.

"Protection," a flash fiction story (it actually grew out of a writing exercise to write a story in only ten sentences), was an Editor's Choice winner in the Winter 2006/2007 issue of Flashquake, an online zine. (See "What's New?" spotlight.)

My short-short story "Platonic" was featured in the Winter Solstice 2006 issue of Cezanne's Carrot, an online journal. In a strange example of synchronicity, both "Platonic" and "Myths from Caves," a story by A. Alan Beck in the same issue, were inspired by Plato's cave allegory. Ironic, innit?
